Garden tools and growing your own vegetables
Gardening Tools
With more and more people wanting to save money and become more self sufficient, there really is no better time to start thinking about your garden space and what it can do for you. Even those with a small area can manage to grow some fresh vegetables and have a few chickens. There are some really good chicken house prices out there that will hold at least 3-6 chickens which will give you at least three eggs a day, more than enough for any family and more. Growing your own vegetables is not hard either and you can turn a small grass area into a really high productive vegetable patch. You can plant your seeds indoors, in an old shed or even on a window sill in your home. Once they are at a decent size and the weather is warm enough, you can get those vegetables out and watch them grow. Self sufficiency has come and gone out of fashion over the years but has recently seen a surge in its popularity. compost heaps and recycling are more popular as people are warming to the idea of being more self sufficient. Flowers, fruits and vegetables are all so easily grown, healthier and a good way to teach the children how food is produced and the processes involves. Chickens are easily kept, they feed on layers pellets and corn and are fed once a day, as long as you clean them out once a week and provide constant fresh water, they will live quite happily. It is better for chickens to be free range and that is the whole concept of having your own chickens. The more chickens you keep, the larger space they will require but a group of about four chickens will not need huge amounts of space, as long as they can walk and forage freely. You can of course allow your chickens the run of the whole garden as long as it is secure but beware chickens love to scrape and forage about and if your garden is beautifully manicured, the chickens may play havoc a little. Another thing that is becoming popular is growing your own flowers for hanging baskets and cut flowers for house decoration. Again this is easy and the key to all these things is to plan what you are doing and to complete one task before you begin another, before you know it, you can have a beautifully functioning vegetable, chicken and flower plot. There are many garden tools out there that will help you complete your jobs and these days, there is a tool for everything, enjoy your gardening.

Gardening Tools question by kittytastic ninjas: Can the Skwerl in your garden use tools?
I woke up this morning to the sound of knocking coming from the Velux window above my bed, followed by a strange skeetering noise made by something tumbling down the rooftiles.
I peeped under the blind and saw our resident Skwerl hammering hazlenuts from our hedgerow on the sharp metal corner of the window frame. He really is a fat b@stard, and now I think it's because he's found new ways to get at his food faster.
Do you know a skwerl with any novel skills?

Answer by Invstrgadget (Kim Possible's boyfriend)
The squirrel around our house broke in four times. He stole pistachios (he has good taste), peed on the floor twice, took a nap in the pans, and broke four screens.
